Woman pleads no contest in paternity test-fix case, September
1, 2004. The second of two women involved in fixing a paternity
test pleaded no contest in court. Gina K. Mechler, 38, of 1425
Diana Drive, Brunswick, will be sentenced Oct. 1 for supplying
a toddler for her friend to use in the court-ordered test.
The paternity test was ordered earlier this year as part of
divorce proceedings for 37-year-old Kimberlee L. Pfahl, of 9845
Crow Road, Litchfield Township.
Records show Pfahl didn't want her husband, David Pfahl, 39,
to have anything to do with her 2-year-old daughter, so she
solicited Mechler, a coworker, to procure someone else's child
for the test in March. Mechler reportedly did so under the guise
of setting up a play date with the child of an acquaintance.
